Super Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi has handed Besiktas a major boost after recovering from injury and resuming full training with the Turkish giants, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Ndidi had been sidelined since picking up a knock while representing Nigeria in a 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying clash against South Africa earlier this month.

The 28-year-old was forced off during the encounter, raising concerns about his fitness for both club and country.

After undergoing medical assessments and a tailored rehabilitation programme, the former Leicester City star returned to group training with Besiktas on Sunday.

His swift recovery comes as welcome news for manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst, whose side has a busy run of fixtures in the Turkish Super Lig and Europe.

Ndidi is now expected to build up match sharpness in the coming days, with a possible return to competitive action on the horizon.

His presence in midfield will be crucial as Besiktas aim to keep pace with rivals Galatasaray and Fenerbahce in the title race.

The Nigerian international will also be monitored by Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle, who is keen to have the experienced midfielder fit for Nigeria’s next round of World Cup qualifiers later this year.
