Super Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi has been ruled out of action for two weeks following the injury he sustained during Nigeria’s 2026 World Cup qualifier against South Africa on Tuesday, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Ndidi, who started the encounter at the Toyota Stadium in Bloemfontein, was forced off midway through the first half after picking up what appeared to be a muscle problem. The 28-year-old looked in visible discomfort as he was replaced, prompting concerns for both club and country.

After the match, Ndidi returned to Türkiye, where he underwent a thorough medical examination by Beşiktaş’ medical team. The scans revealed a strain in his posterior thigh muscle, but the damage was not as serious as initially feared.
