Injury Update: Super Eagles Defender Set For Surgery

Nigeria's Super Eagles and FC Porto defender Zaidu Sanusi is set for a long spell on the sideline after sustaining a long anterior cruciate ligament injury, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

After representing Nigeria at the just-concluded African Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast he was thrown into action against Estralla Da Amadora.

Zaidu sustained the injury in the 37th minute and he was subbed off.

According to an update from the Portugal, the Nigeria international is set to undergo surgery in the next few days.

The Nigerian international has a complete rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament and the external lateral ligament of his left knee,” reads a statement on the club’s official website.
