Insurance Crowned Edo FA Cup Champions, Pips Feeders Team 2-0

Bendel Insurance on Wednesday defeated Insurance Feeders 2-0 to claim the 2023 Edo FA Cup, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Imade Osarenkhoe's strike in the 10th minute and a 68th-minute finish from Sodje Stephens gifted Insurance their second silverware of the season in the final match played at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium.

It was an explosive finale as Coach Stanley Osazee managed Insurance Feeders showed brilliance with their tiki-taka free-flow football but Insurance's strength and experience made the difference.

On road to finals, Monday Odigie-led Benin Arsenals started the 2023 Edo FA Cup campaign with a 3-0 win over amateur sides Etete FC and Yak FC respectively in the second round and quarter-finals matches. Insurance FC went on to beat Eagle Wings 1-0 in the Semi-finals.

On the other hand, Insurance Feeders defeated Konstanz Dike FC 1-0 in the second round before going ahead to beat Ine Stars 2-0 in the quarter-finals before their 4-2 shootout victory over Rolly FC to set up all Insurance final.

Both Insurance and the Feeders team will represent Edo State at the national level of the Federation Cup.
