Inter Club Competition: CAF Cancels Elite Training Course

Sampson Adedeji

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has cancelled the Interclubs Quarter-Finals Preparation Course earlier scheduled to hold in Cairo, Egypt, from March 4 to 8, 2026, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The elite training programme was designed to prepare selected match officials ahead of the crucial knockout rounds of CAF’s inter-club competitions, including the Champions League and the Confederation Cup.

According to information gathered, the decision to call off the course was necessitated by visa delays and flight ticket challenges affecting a number of participants expected to attend the exercise.

The training was expected to fine-tune referees and other officials in key areas such as game management, VAR application, and interpretation of the Laws of the Game ahead of the quarter-final fixtures.

CAF is yet to announce a new date for the programme as the continent’s premier club competitions approach the decisive stages.
