International Friendlies: Super Eagles Turn To Azeez Following Chukwueze's Withdrawal

Femi Azeez has been called up to replace Samuel Chukwueze in Nigeria's squad for the upcoming international friendlies against Poland and Portugal, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
Chukwueze has been excused from both fixtures on personal grounds following the burial of his late mother in Abia State earlier this week.
Azeez earns the opportunity after making an impressive start to his international career with the Super Eagles. The winger announced himself in style on his debut, scoring twice in Nigeria's 2-0 victory over Zimbabwe and quickly establishing himself as one of the team's emerging attacking options.
The 24-year-old has continued to impress during the ongoing Unity Cup campaign and will now have another opportunity to stake his claim for a regular place in Eric Chelle's squad.
Nigeria will conclude their Unity Cup campaign with a final against Jamaica before shifting focus to their European tour.
The Super Eagles are scheduled to face Poland in Warsaw on June 3 before taking on Portugal on June 10 as part of preparations for future international assignments.
Chelle is expected to use both fixtures to assess his squad and build momentum ahead of Nigeria's upcoming competitive engagements.
