When Nigeria's Super Eagles confront the Desert Foxes of Algeria, it will surely be without West Bromich Albion defender Semi Ajayi who has been confirmed injured, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The 3-time African champions will face Algeria in an international friendly match slated for Oran in Algeria on September 27th.

The championship club manager Steve Bruce gave an update on the extent of his injury as they set for their mid-week match.

"We knew it was a huge amount of games in a small period.

“We’ve had one or two injuries which have unfortunately for us been serious in that time. Semi has had an operation on his ankle.

"We felt it was the best forward, so he’ll be another six to eight weeks or so", Bruce told Birmingham live.

Ajayi is expected to be back for the Super Eagles match against Portugal in November.
