International Friendly: Cameroon To Play Super Falcons Without Coach
Sampson Adedeji
The Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon will face Nigeria’s Super Falcons in an international friendly this weekend without a substantive head coach, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
Both sides are scheduled to clash in Yaoundé as part of their preparations for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
However, the Cameroonian team heads into the encounter amid uncertainty on the technical bench.
Since the dismissal of Jean-Baptiste Bisseck on October 29, 2025, following the Indomitable Lionesses’ elimination by Algeria in the qualifiers a 2-1 defeat in Oran and a 1-0 loss in Yaoundé the three-time Women’s AFCON runners-up have yet to appoint a permanent replacement.
The absence of a head coach has raised concerns within Cameroonian football circles, particularly as the team continues preparations for the continental showpiece.
The situation became even more complex after Cameroon was reinstated into the tournament by Confederation of African Football (CAF) following the expansion of the competition from 12 to 16 teams.
With the expanded tournament offering the Indomitable Lionesses another opportunity to compete at the highest level on the continent, attention will now turn to how the team navigates the friendly against the Super Falcons without a permanent technical adviser in place.
The upcoming fixture is expected to provide both teams with a valuable test as they intensify preparations for the 2026 Women’s AFCON in Morocco.
