Defender William Troost-Ekong has joined the growing list of injured Super Eagles players that will not be available for the International friendly match against Desert Foxes of Algeria, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Skipper Ahmed Musa, Leon Balogun, Victor Osimhen, Henry Onyekuru, Jamiu Collins and recently Wilfred Ndidi were all ruled out due to injury.

Ekong made it to the team camp in Constantine and was in action against the Algeria B team where he picked up a knock that ruled him out of the game.

According to the update from the team camp in Algeria, Ekong has returned to England for his assessment and treatment from the Watford FC medics.

“William Troost-Ekong has left the camp as a result of an injury cropped during the test game yesterday. He is back to base for further checks. Wishing you a speedy recovery Ekong” reads a tweet on the Super Eagles Twitter handle.

The game against Algeria will come up on Tuesday in Oran.
