By Editor

Super Eagles assistant coach, Salisu Yusuf will next week release official team lists for the upcoming international friendly against Mexico and Ecuador next week.

234sportsng.com impeccable source at the NFF secretariats in Abuja revealed that Salisu has been given the green light to shortlist names of players for the dual friendly matches even if a new technical adviser is employed before the matches.

" Coach Salisu Yusuf has been saddled with the responsibilities of inviting players for the two international friendly matches against Mexico and Ecuador even if a new technical adviser is named next week," a NFF top official revealed.

Ecuador listed the Super Eagles as one of its oppositions for a friendly game in June as it prepares for the Qatar 2022 World Cup.

According to the Ecuadorian radio station, Radio La Red, the South Americans who have qualified for the World Cup just for the fourth time will play Nigeria, Mexico and Tunisia in friendly games.

The Nigerian senior national team last faced Ecuador in 2004 in the now-defunct LG Cup third-place match.

Similarly, Mexico has scheduled a friendly match with Nigeria as part of their preparations for the tournament slated for Qatar in November.

The two friendly matches will be played in the United States.
