International Friendly: Simon, Adams Fire Super Eagles Past World Cup-Bound Iran

The Super Eagles of Nigeria delivered an impressive performance to defeat World Cup-bound Iran 2-1 in an international friendly played in Antalya, Turkey, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Nigeria asserted their dominance from the opening whistle, controlling possession and dictating the tempo of the game. 

Their bright start paid off early, as winger Moses Simon found the back of the net in the 6th minute to hand the Super Eagles a deserved lead.

The three-time African champions continued to press for more goals and were rewarded midway through the second half when Sevilla forward Akor Adams doubled Nigeria’s advantage, finishing clinically to make it 2-0.

Iran responded late in the encounter, pulling one goal back to set up a nervy finish, but the Super Eagles held firm to secure a deserved victory.

The win serves as a confidence booster for Nigeria ahead of their next international friendly, where they will face Jordan next week.
