International Friendly: Super Falcons Thrash New Zealand In Turkey

Super Falcons continue their impressive performance in Antalya, Turkey with another 3-0 victory over New Zealand, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The second friendly which comes up against the Ferns of New Zealand was organised for the team as part of the warm-up for the upcoming 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup.

In the first friendly played on Friday, goals from Esther Okronkwo and Asisat Oshoala ensured that Nigeria secured a 2-1 win over Haiti.

For the New Zealand match, after a scoreless half-hour, it was captain Onome Ebi that put Nigeria ahead in the 34th minute and ensured that Super Falcons ended the half in firm control.

The nine-time African champions started the second half on the front foot and got their deserved goal in the 49th minute through Jennifer Onyi Echeginni.

The New Zealanders almost reduced the deficit in the 61st minute but the goalkeeping brilliance of Chiamaka Nnadozie ensured that Super Falcons maintained their comfortable lead.

Desire Oparanozie came in the 50th minute for Esther Okronkwo and made it count in the 94th minute she sealed the game with the 3rd goal.

The victory made it 3 consecutive wins for the Super Falcons of Nigeria.
