International Friendly: United States Trounce Super Falcons 4-0

It was a game to forget for Nigeria's Super Falcons on Saturday in Kansas City as they suffered a heavy defeat against the United States, BSNsports.com.ng reports.

Falconets midfielder Deborah Abiodun started the game for the Nigerian side as the World Champions dominated the match.

Sophia Smith opened the scoring in the 14th minute before Lindsay Horan made it 2-0 in the 25th minute after Christy Uchebe forced a save from the US goalkeeper.

Smith completed her brace in the 45th minute and ended the half 3-0 in favour of the host.

Nigeria's coach Randy Waldrum made three changes at the start of the second half, as Abiodun, Gift Monday and Uchenna Kanu were pulled out for Rofiat Imuran, Amanda Mbadi and Nicole Payne.

United State was awarded a penalty in the 54th minute and it was well converted by Alex Morgan.

Another Falconets defender Tosin Demehin also made her debut when she was introduced later in the game.

The game ended 4-0 in favour of the United States, the second match is slated for Washington, D.C. on the 6th of September.
