International Friendly: Why We Lost To Super Falcons – Cameroon Coach

Head coach of Cameroon’s Indomitable Lionesses, Mike Ndoumou, has explained why his side fell 3-1 to Nigeria’s Super Falcons in their second international friendly, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

After edging the first encounter 1-0, the Lionesses were unable to replicate the same intensity in the return fixture, as the Super Falcons mounted a strong comeback performance to secure a convincing 3-1 victory.

Reflecting on the defeat, Ndoumou admitted that his team allowed Nigeria too much control of the game.

“We let Nigeria lay siege to us and play in our half. The goals came very quickly,” he said.

The Cameroonian tactician acknowledged that his side struggled to cope with the sustained pressure from the nine-time African champions, particularly after conceding early momentum in the match.

Despite the setback, Ndoumou insisted that the friendly fixtures are part of the team’s build-up toward the upcoming Women's Africa Cup of Nations.

“We are still in preparation, and until the official CAF statement is released, we will continue to work towards WAFCON,” he added.

The two matches served as key preparation tests for both West African rivals as they fine-tune their squads ahead of major continental competitions.
