Invitational Tournament: Kwara Falcons Suffer Defeat In Abidjan

The preparation of Nigeria's representative in the forthcoming African Basketball League( BAL) tournament Kwara Falcons suffered a set back on Tuesday evening, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The Kwara-based basketball club qualified to represent Nigeria in BAL after emerging champions when they defeated Kano Pillars basketball team in the final of the Super 8.

They were invited to take part in the invitational competition in Abidjan, Coted'Ivoire and their opening game ended in defeat.

Stade De Malien from Mali defeated the Nigerian team 84-69 in the keenly contested encounter.

Kwara Falcons are in the same Sahara Conference group in the Basketball African League (BAL) with AS Douanes (Senegal), Abidjan Basket Club (Cote d’Ivoire), US Monastir (Tunísia), Stade Malien (Mali) e Rwanda Energy Group (Rwanda).

The Nigeria champions will face AS Douanes of Senegal on 14th March, 2023 BAL Sahara Conference opener.
