Ipswich Premier League Return Excites Finidi

Super Eagles boss George Finidi has expressed his excitement following the promotion of Ipswich Town to the English Premier League, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The Championship side returned to the elite division on Saturday after a comfortable 2-0 win over Huddersfield Town.

The team suffered relegation in 2002 and they were down to the 3rd tier in 2019 before coming up again.

The ex-Nigeria International joined Ipswich in 2001 from the Spanish La Liga side Real Betis and he was able to make 46 appearances and scored 8 goals

While speaking to the Punch correspondent, Finidi was happy about the team development 

"I’m happy for Ipswich Town.

“They (Ipswich) deserve it after trying for so long to get back to elite football; finally, they got the ticket", he said.
