Israeli pro league club Maccabi Jaffa Kabilo has offered support for Nigeria's Super Eagles player John Ogu who is on its payroll, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The former Trabzonspor midfielder was racially abused by fans of the home side in a league match involving Maccabi Jaffa and Bnei Yehuda.

Ogu played an active role as Maccabi secured a lone goal win, but he was racially abused in the course of the game.

Maccabi came out to condemn the abuse and insisted they are against any form of abuse.

" Maccabi Kabilio Jaffa football club stands firm behind and with John Ogu after the racial abuse he suffered from a few rival fans yesterday.

"There is no place for these incidents on the pitch, or anywhere else for that matter.

"Maccabi Kabilio Jaffa is and always will be a warm home for players from all race and religion and the club will never tolerate such acts.

You have our back John! ", the club said.
