Corriere dello Sport has identified three Milan players that can fill the vacuum that left as Super Eagles winger Samuel Chukwueze begin his recuperation following a hamstring injury he sustained while on duty for Nigeria during the international break., BSNSports.com.ng reports.
Chukwueze featured for Nigeria against Saudi Arabia and Mozambique in the tune-up matches that saw the Super Eagles draw 2-2 with the Green Falcons and 3-2 against the Mambas in Portugal.
The Italian sports news source (via MilanNews) confirmed that Stefano Pioli will be without the Nigerian winger for around a month, meaning he will not be back until after the November international break.
Christian Pulisic has nailed down the starting spot on the right side but given that Milan play six games in the next month there will be the need to rotate to keep everyone fresh, and now Chukwueze is not available it raises some questions.
The natural replacement is Luka Romero who, after making his debut against Cagliari, could have some more significant opportunities in the coming weeks.
Alternatively, Noah Okafor could also be moved to the right or Yunus Musah could play further forward, in a role that he played more often at the beginning of his career and had a flashback to in the win over Hellas Verona where he was a right wing-back.
Pioli could also decide to redesign the formation if absolutely necessary, with further signs awaited from the training sessions to follow.
Therefore, Chukwueze is almost certain to miss the following matches: Juventus at home, PSG away (Champions League), Napoli away, Udinese home, PSG (Champions League) and Lecce away.
