Nigeria international Ademola Lookman is back in Atalanta’s squad ahead of their Serie A encounter against Torino this weekend, after returning to full training with the first team on Thursday, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The 26-year-old winger, who has been sidelined for the past two weeks with a minor muscle issue, completed the entire session at the Zingonia training centre and is expected to be included in Gian Piero Gasperini’s match-day squad.

Lookman’s availability is a timely boost for La Dea as they look to bounce back from last weekend’s defeat to Fiorentina.

He has been one of Atalanta’s most consistent performers since arriving from RB Leipzig in 2022, scoring 27 goals and providing 14 assists across all competitions. Off the pitch, the Bergamo-based club have moved to secure the future of the Super Eagles star by offering him a new, improved contract.

According to reports in Italy, co-owner Stephen Pagliuca is leading the negotiations, with the deal set to significantly increase Lookman’s salary while inserting a €45 million release clause.

The new offer will not alter the current expiration date of June 2027 but is designed to reward Lookman for his impact and ward off growing interest from other European clubs.

Atalanta will host Torino at the Gewiss Stadium on Sunday evening, hoping to climb the Serie A table after a mixed start to the season.

Fans will be eager to see if Lookman, now fully fit and with a fresh contract on the horizon, can inspire Gasperini’s men to victory.
