Jake Paul To Get Ban After Knockout Defeat To Anthony Joshua
Ibrahim Lateef
Jake Paul is set to face a two-month boxing ban following his knockout defeat to Nigeria's Anthony Joshua. The 'Problem Child' managed to survive until the sixth round in the contentious clash, BSNSports.com.ng has sourced.
Paul, aged 28, will serve a mandatory 60-day suspension imposed by the Florida Athletic Commission following his knockout loss.
The ban could be lengthened if the knockout is deemed sufficiently serious. The YouTuber-turned-boxer isn't planning a swift return to the ring within that period.
Paul confessed he'll take time to weigh up his options, though he remains focused on championship glory despite being thoroughly outclassed by Joshua.
After the bout, Paul disclosed that his jaw had been fractured by his rival.
"I've already won in every single way in life, my family, my jaw is broken by the way, it's definitely broke, nice little a** whooping from one of the best to ever do it," Paul said, reports the Mirror.
"Honestly, I'm not surprised, I just got tired, so much handling his weight. I think with better cardio, I could've kept fighting.
"I did my personal best. Oh, for sure, we'll heal the broken jaw, go back, fight people my own weight and go for the cruiserweight world title.
"I'm going to take a little break. I've been going hard for six years."
