Jamaica Football Federation Explains Cancellation Of Friendly Against Nigeria

 The Jamaica Football Federation (JFF) has issued a statement addressing the cancellation of the proposed international friendly match between the Reggae Girlz and Nigeria’s Super Falcons, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The fixture, which was scheduled to take place in England, was called off due to administrative issues. 

According to the JFF, the decision was taken to ensure full compliance with international standards and FIFA regulations.

In an official statement, the federation stressed its commitment to transparency following media reports about the scrapped encounter.

“The Jamaica Football Federation has reaffirmed its commitment to FIFA compliance and transparency following recent reports surrounding the proposed fixture involving the Reggae Girlz and Nigeria,” the statement read.

The JFF added that the cancellation was necessary to guarantee that all logistical arrangements and procedural requirements for the match met the required international benchmarks.

Both teams are currently in preparation mode for upcoming competitive assignments.

 The Super Falcons are expected to line up alternative warm-up matches as they fine-tune their squad ahead of their next international engagements.

The Reggae Girlz and Super Falcons remain two of Africa and the Caribbean’s most prominent women’s national teams, and football fans had anticipated the clash as a valuable opportunity for both sides to test themselves against strong opposition.
