Joachim Löw Dismisses Ghana Coaching Links Ahead of World Cup

Joachim Low has dismissed speculation linking him with the vacant head coach position of the Ghana national football team ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Reports earlier suggested that the former Germany manager was close to reaching an agreement with the Ghana Football Association, with discussions allegedly progressing toward a deal worth approximately €150,000 per month. It was also claimed that personal terms were nearing completion following recent negotiations.

However, speaking to Sky Sport Germany, Löw categorically denied any such developments, stating that he has not been contacted by Ghanaian officials. “No one from Ghana has officially spoken to me,” he said, effectively dismissing the reports as unfounded.

His comments suggest that speculation surrounding a potential appointment is premature and not grounded in formal discussions.

Löw remains one of the most accomplished international managers in modern football. During his tenure with the Germany national football team from 2006 to 2021, he guided the side to a third-place finish at the 2010 FIFA World Cup and famously led them to victory at the 2014 FIFA World Cup. He also secured the FIFA Confederations Cup in 2017.

Over 198 matches in charge, Löw recorded 124 wins — the highest tally by any Germany head coach.

For now, any reported link between Löw and the Ghana job appears to lack substance, with the coach’s own remarks firmly ruling out ongoing negotiations.
