Johan Cruff Shield: Bassey Gets Greenlight To Face PSV Eindhoven

The hope of Super Eagles defender Calvin Bassey to make his debut for Ajax Amsterdam this weekend has finally received the green light, BSNsports.com.ng reports.

Bassey joined the former European champions this summer from Rangers of Scotland and was initially scheduled to make his bow against Shaktar Donetsk on Tuesday.

His debut was postponed after they failed to secure clearance for him which also put his hope of playing in the Johan Cruff Shield on Saturday in serious doubt.

According to a report from the Netherlands, the Dutch Eredivisie late on Thursday evening sent the clearance of the Nigeria international.

With the availability of the clearance, Bassey is expected to be in action Saturday in a league curtain raiser against rival PSV Eindhoven.
