John Mahama urges Black Stars to be resolute ahead of Nigeria clash today

John

Former President, John Dramani Mahama has urged the Black Stars to be resolute as they prepare to take on Nigeria in the second leg of their 2022 World Cup playoff match, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The first leg in Kumasi on Friday ended goalless despite a dominant performance from the Black Stars.

Otto Addo’s team, who landed in Abuja on Monday, are regarded by bookies as the underdogs for today’s match.

However, John Mahama remains confident that the Stars will claim a spot at the Qatar World Cup later this year if they focus on the task before them.

“Ghana vrs Nigeria… the friendship is strong, and the history is rich,” he posted on Facebook.

“I urge the Black Stars to be resolute today to qualify Ghana for the FIFA 2022 World Cup tournament in Qatar. Go Black Stars Go!”

A win or a score-draw today will take Ghana through to the World Cup, while a 0-0 draw would take the tie into extra-time and possible penalties.
