John Ogu Slams Nigerians Over Comments on Osimhen's New Contract

Precious Oham

Super Eagles midfielder John Ogu has expressed worry and disappointment over comments by some Nigerians on the new contract signed by Victor Oshimhen at Napoli, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Ogu, who plays for Israeli club Maccabi Jaffa, said the deliberate attempts by some Nigerians to belittle the new contract extended by the Napoli hitman is ridiculous.

Expressing his frustration through his X handle in both English and Pidgin languages, he wrote: "A player extended his contract in his team, Nigerians say na Bad move... E no go better for the person wey do you.

"A New contract is for his team to get a defined fee for him so anybody that wants to buy him will have to know what to do to get him. Coming here to tweet nonsense saying it was a bad move sounds rubbish to me. If you don’t understand, ask questions.

Recall that Osimhen's contract extension came with a release clause which made him one of the highest paid in italian football.
