For a UEFA Pro License candidate from Edo State, few opportunities rival the prestige and impact of participating in a masterclass led by one of the world’s most successful football clubs.

Recently, Nosayaba Iyamu had the privilege of completing the Manchester City Football Club Masterclass Coaching Programme—an experience that not only deepened his understanding of football but also connected him to a network of elite professionals through the club’s alumni team.

“From the moment I entered the training facility, I was struck by Manchester City’s commitment to excellence,” Nosayaba said.

“The programme was meticulously designed to provide insights into the innovative tactics and methodologies that have propelled the club to the pinnacle of football.”

Over several intensive sessions, Nosayaba learned from some of the club’s leading coaches, gaining expertise in critical areas like player development, tactical analysis, and team dynamics.

“What set this experience apart,” he reflected, “was the hands-on approach. Each session included practical drills that could be immediately applied to my coaching style. I was fully immersed in the club’s philosophy, which emphasises fluid play, creativity, and a deep understanding of each player’s strengths. This reinforced my belief in the importance of adaptability in coaching.”

The programme also fostered a strong sense of community. Nosayaba connected with top coaches from elite clubs worldwide, forming a network united by a shared passion for football and a desire to refine their craft.

“The discussions we had—both during and after the sessions—were incredibly enriching,” he shared.

“They sparked new ideas and perspectives on the challenges we face as coaches. Being part of this collaborative environment was both motivating and inspiring.”

Beyond the knowledge gained, the masterclass marked a major milestone in Nosayaba’s coaching career.

“Completing the programme wasn’t just about learning—it was about recognition,” he said.

“Being inducted into Manchester City Football Club’s prestigious alumni team is an honour. This network connects me with professionals who are committed to raising the standards of football coaching globally. The affiliation also opens doors to continuous professional development, networking, and future collaborations.”

As the founder of the Yaba Sports and Technology Foundation. A foundation is already changing lives within the educational system in Nigeria.

Nosayaba is now on a mission to bring his newly acquired coaching expertise back to Africa, starting with his home state of Edo.

His plans include hosting international coaches to share modern coaching techniques and launching the inaugural Yaba Sports Festival in 2025.

“This festival will go beyond football, incorporating other sports to create a transformative experience for athletes and coaches alike,” he announced.

“Our goal is to enhance the quality of sports in Edo State and inspire the next generation of talent.”
