Jordan Wins Gold For Nigeria At British Taekwondo Open, Commends NSC

UK-based Nigerian athlete Jordan Osanrenren Joel secured a gold medal for Team Nigeria at the British International Taekwondo Open held in the United Kingdom, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
Competing in the heavyweight (+87kg) category, Jordan recorded three consecutive victories from the quarterfinal stage to the final to emerge champion at the globally ranked tournament.
His impressive performance also earned valuable world ranking points for Nigeria and contributed to Team Nigeria’s 10th-place finish among 142 senior teams that participated at the competition.
Speaking after his triumph, Jordan lauded the National Sports Commission’s Diaspora Talents Development Committee for creating opportunities for Nigerian athletes abroad to remain connected with sports development in the country.
He described the initiative as a vital platform that bridges diaspora athletes with grassroots sports programmes in Nigeria.
The National Sports Commission has continued to intensify efforts aimed at integrating diaspora athletes into the nation’s sporting structure as part of plans to boost Nigeria’s international success.
