Jose Peseiro Under Fire In Egypt, Faces Possible Dismissal
Sampson Adedeji
Former Super Eagles head coach, Jose Peseiro, is under mounting pressure in Egypt as his stint with Zamalek continues to disappoint, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
Appointed in February to lead the Cairo-based giants, the Portuguese tactician has struggled to revive the team’s fortunes.
Discontent among Zamalek supporters grew louder following the club’s early exit from the CAF Confederation Cup.
The pressure intensified after a disappointing 2-2 draw against National Bank on Monday, prompting the club’s board to convene an emergency meeting on Wednesday to decide Peseiro’s future.
Peseiro, who previously managed Venezuela and Nigeria, currently earns a reported $70,000 monthly salary with the Egyptian side.
