Junior D’Tigress Begin World Cup Preparations In Abuja

Nigeria’s U-19 women’s basketball team, the Junior D’Tigress, have kicked off preparations for the upcoming FIBA U-19 Women’s Basketball World Cup set to take place in Czechia this July, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Led by head coach Juliana Ojoshogu Negedu, the team is currently engaged in intensive training sessions at the indoor sports hall of the MKO Abiola Stadium, Package B, in Abuja. 

The camp is aimed at refining tactics and fostering team chemistry ahead of the tournament, which begins on July 12.

The Junior D’Tigress booked their place at the World Cup after finishing as runners-up at the 2024 FIBA U-18 Women’s Afrobasket in South Africa, losing 76-56 to Mali in the final.
