Junior Female Yellow Greens Arrive Tanzania For U-19 T20 World Cup Qualifiers

Nigeria’s U-19 women’s cricket team, the Junior Female Yellow Greens, have arrived in Tanzania as they begin their quest to qualify for the ICC Women’s U-19 T20 World Cup, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The ICC U-19 Women’s T20 World Cup Africa Qualifier is scheduled to take place in Dar es Salaam from August 30 to September 5, with Nigeria aiming to secure a return to the global tournament.

The Nigerian contingent is led by coaches Sarah Bakhita and Theophilus Ibodeme, with the team also receiving support from the High-Performance Manager of the Nigeria Cricket Federation.

The Junior Female Yellow Greens concluded their final training session at the UNILAG Cricket Oval in Lagos on Wednesday before departing Nigeria on Thursday night.

The team will now turn its attention to the continental qualifying tournament in Tanzania, where they will battle for a place at next year’s ICC Women’s U-19 T20 World Cup to be hosted by Bangladesh and Nepal.
