Jupiler League: Antwerp Boss Describes Ejuke As Fringe Player

The manager of the Belgian Jupiler League side Royal Antwerp, Van Bommel, has described Nigeria's Super Eagles midfielder Bright Ejuke as a fringe player, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Ejuke joined the Belgian side on loan from the Russian Premier League side CSKA Moscow after a stint with the German Bundesliga club Herta Berlin.

Since his move to Belgium, Ejuke has yet to start a game and the club fans are clamouring for his inclusion from the start.

Bommel revealed that Ejuke needed to be patient because he didn't attend pre-season with the team.

"He had trained half a preparation individually before he came to us," Van Bommel revealed. 

"Then you can't expect too much from him, but you have to guide him well."

"His quality is making actions and we were constantly working on that. We systematically increased the intensity, but it took time. 

"I understand that some are impatient, but it all has to fit together. He has to get used to his teammates and they him. It is a process," he added.

Ejuke was part of the Super Eagles team to the 2021 African Cup of Nations in Cameroon.
