By Niyi Busari
FEBLommel SK has secured Dominion Ohaka on a loan deal. The Nigerian right-back joins from Water FC and will play in Lommel for the next twelve months. At the end of this period, LSK holds an option to buy.
On the final day of the transfer window, LSK confirmed the signing of Nigerian right-back Dominion Ohaka. All the paperwork was finished just before midnight. The 18-year-old arrives on a one-year loan from Water FC. The agreement also includes a purchase option.
Ohaka has played all his matches in his home country so far. The talented youngster has already made his debut for the Nigerian national team. In 2022, he played the full friendly match against Costa Rica, which ended in a 2-0 defeat. Ohaka will arrive in Lommel on a short notice.
Sporting director James McCarron spoke about the loan deal: “Dominion is regarded as a top talent in his home country. Making your national team debut at such a young age is an achievement very few players can claim. Unfortunately, Dominion is still recovering from a previous injury and will not be available for action just yet. We will do everything we can to get him back to full fitness as soon as possible.”
Ohaka himself is thrilled about the move to Europe: “Playing in Europe has always been a big dream for me, and now that dream is coming true. I am very grateful to Lommel SK for this opportunity and can’t wait to play my first match at the Soevereinstadion! Unfortunately, my debut will have to wait a little longer, but I will do everything I can to recover as quickly as possible!”
