Kano Pillars’ quest for silverware in the 2026 President Federation Cup came to a dramatic end at the Sani Abacha Stadium, where they were defeated 4–2 on penalties by Bichi First FC following a goalless semi-final encounter, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The match, initially disrupted by adverse weather conditions, saw the decisive penalty shootout postponed until the following morning. Upon resumption, Bichi First FC held their nerve from the spot, producing a composed display to secure a memorable victory and a place in the final.

They will now face Barau Football Club in an all-Kano final at the same venue, setting up a highly anticipated clash between two local rivals.

The result highlights the enduring unpredictability of the President Federation Cup, widely regarded as Nigeria’s premier knockout competition, where lower-tier and grassroots teams frequently challenge and overcome established top-flight sides.
