Kanu Eyes Super Falcons Return Ahead Of WAFCON

Super Falcons forward Uchenna Kanu has expressed her strong desire to return to the national team setup after missing the last edition of the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Kanu, who has scored 20 goals for Nigeria, did not feature in the previous tournament but believes she still has much to contribute to the nine-time African champions.

“I think at this point in my career, scoring 20 goals, I still have more to give. That’s if I’m given the chance, and my goal is to stay fit, stay healthy,” she told Brila FM.

The former U.S.-based striker added that her ambition is to help the team achieve more success.

“I want to win with the team more. I want to score more goals. So my goal is to be back on the team, to at least get back with my girls because I miss them a lot, and I’m looking forward to the 11th.”

Her comments come as the Super Falcons continue preparations for upcoming international engagements, with competition for places in the squad expected to intensify.
