Karate: Fire Service Wins 2nd Chief of Defence Staff National Open

Fire Service emerged champions of the Second Chief of Defence Staff National Open held in Abuja, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Fire Service won four gold and 1 silver medal to emerge champions in the three days National Karate events. 

No fewer than 27 clubs which included states and clubs participated in 16 male and female events. 

Delta State came second with seven medals which consists of three gold, two silver, and two bronze medals. Anambra State and Strata Base Club are third and fourth while Edo State, Nigeria Immigration, and Rivers State claimed 5th, 6th, and 7th positions respectively.

Civil Defense, Nigerian Navy, and Nigerian Police Force completed the top 10.

Other winners are Nigerian Army (NA) (2 silver & 5 bronze medals), Nigerian Correctional Service(NCOS) (1 silver & 4 bronze medals), while the University of Ilorin (Unilorin) and Niger State won two bronze each.

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), 

Taraba State and Nigerian Air Force (NAF) won a bronze each.
