Kwara United Sacks Sanni After Three Losses In Four Matches
Ibrahim Lateef
Coach Tunde Sanni has been dismissed from his role by Kwara United in the aftermath of the team's 0-1 home loss to Abia Warriors on MatchDay 7 of the Nigeria Premier Football League, reports BSNSports.com.ng.
Sanni who guided Kwara United to clinch their first-ever President Federation Cup title following a tense goalless draw and a dramatic 4–3 penalty shootout win over Abakaliki FC in Lagos, became the first managerial casualty in the 2025/26 NPFL this season.
The gaffer's faith was sealed after three losses in his last four matches, with two of the defeats being a back-to-back loss to Ghana's Asante Kotoko in the CAF Confederation Cup.
In swift reaction, Sanni's former assistant, coach Ashifat Suleiman, has taken charge with immediate effect, as he prepares the team for the visit to Kano against Kano Pillars on MatchDay 8.
The loss against the Warriors from Umuahia, leaves the Afronja Warriors 10th on the NPFL log with 8 points.
