Secretary General of Representatives of the Government-Owned NPFL Clubs, Alloy Chukwuemeka has assured that the Ilorin Stadium will begin to host Kwara United home matches before the Easter celebration, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Chukwuemeka, Football Director ABS FC (Abubakar Bukola Saraki Football Club) said on Sports Salsa, a Sports radio programme anchored by Mitchell Obi on Kenny's Radio.

"The Ilorin Stadium is undergoing rehabilitation, as the current government is replacing artificial turf on the pitch with natural grass.

" Reason behind the change of the playing turf is geared towards hosting of international competitions or qualifiers involving Nigeria's national male or female national teams.

"The development made Kwara United host their CAF Confederations Cup preliminary matches at the Mobolaji Sports Arena (formerly Onikan Stadium) in Lagos.

"With the season kicking off this weekend, the state football team have opted to have their home matches at the Lekan Salami Sports Complex, Adamasingba in Ibadan, Oyo State, pending completion of the project.

"The rehabilitation and re-grassing of the Ilorin Stadium should be completed before the Easter celebration."
