Super Eagles midfielder Chidera Ejuke and his Sevilla teammates were forced to spend the night at the club’s training ground after furious fans attacked the team in protest of their 3-2 loss to 10-man Celta Vigo, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The defeat left Sevilla just six points clear of the relegation zone.

The players remained at the facility overnight for their own safety after the team bus was pelted with objects and the squad faced intense verbal abuse.

While most fans stayed outside the training complex, some attempted to breach the perimeter in a bid to confront the players.

Security personnel and local police were able to hold them off. According to Cadena SER radio, police eventually used rubber bullets to disperse the most violent individuals.
