La Liga: Tough Opening Day Fixture For Umar's Almeria

The organiser of La Liga Santander has released the fixtures for the 2022/2023 season which is slated to kick off on the 14th of August, BSNsports.com.ng gathered.

The fixtures which were released on Thursday afternoon pitched newly promoted UD Almeria the club of Nigeria's Super Eagles striker Sadiq Umar against Uefa and League champions, Real Madrid.

Almeria with the hard work of Nigeria forward gained promotion to the elite division at the end of last season's campaign.

They finished on top of the table with 81 points in 42 matches the same as Real Valladolid who finished in the second spot.

Umar was the star of the team as he scored 18 goals in 36 games and he was voted the club player of the year.

Playing at the Estadio de los Juegos MediterrÃ¡neos, Almeria will have their hands full when they confronted Madrid is presently the European champions.
