Lagos State Basketball Governor's Cup Holds 18-31 December

... Organiser Announces 8th December As Closing Date For Registration

The Lagos State Basketball Association has announced that the maiden Governor's Cup basketball competition will hold between 18th to 31st December, 2023.

The competition which includes male and female teams will hold in six venues across the State.

The organiser announced that the registration fee ranges from Twenty thousand naira (#20,000) for affiliated clubs while non-affiliated clubs pay Thirty thousand naira (#30,000) as the closing slated for 8th December, 2023.

Led by Chiarperson, Ms Barbara Atinuke Harper, the Lagos Basketball Association stated that the competition is organised to discover male and female young talented basketball players and get them to the next stage.

Speaking, the Vice-chairman who doubles as Chairman Technical Committee, Olumide Oyedeji said the Association has concluded plans in staging the first Governor's Cup basketball competition with Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwoolu gracing the occasion. "We are promoting the vision of Lagos State governor and the state's Sports Commission with this grassroots basketball competition.

"It's a platform created to discover talented basketball players and nurture them to stardom. We are determined in providing most engaging, exciting and positive platform for players to enjoy healthy grassroots basketball competition in Lagos and this enabling the sport to fulfill its vast potential and positive social impact across Lagos city."

The tournament which is organised for young male and female basketball players will commence on 18th and ends 31st December. It will hold in six different venues across Lagos as registration ends on 8th December.

Cash rewards and awards will also be won by the best performing individuals and clubs.
