Lakeside Queens' Dorothy leads goals galore in NWFL Championship After MatchDay 2

The Nigeria Women Football League Championship has produced 40 goals after two MatchDays across all centers, with at least seven players scoring braces as Lakeside Queens forward - Dorothy Essien leads the goals galore with four goals from two games, bsnsports.com.ng reports. 

After two games, Lakeside Queens dominate the goal-scorers chart in the Championship with six goals from four players while conceding three in return, with Dorothy Essien bagging two braces over two games against Imo Striker Queens and Delta Babes. 

After the second game's 3-1 home win against Delta Babes, Lakeside topped Group B with six maximum points and a +3 goal difference tally, which is the best goal-scoring statistic so far in the Championship. 

Imo Striker's duo - Harmony Achifula and Oscar Precious, are both on braces from their opening games against Lakeside Queens and Prince Kazeem Elutu Queens, bagging five goals from both players after Harmony bagged her third in the second game. 

In Group A, table toppers - Ekiti Queens aren't left out of the highlight, with their very own Chima Chisom bagging her share of the braces in her team's opening fixture against Moje Queens to earn a 3-4 away win after a feisty seven-goal thriller at the Remo Stars FC Stadium in Ikenne. 

Chima Chisom also poses as the player with the fastest brace in the Championship so far, scoring in the 75th and 77th minutes successively against Moje, as the home side also produced a brace scorer of theirs in Godwin Peace, who scored in the 36th and 40th minutes of the same game. 

Moje Queens in Group A are still searching for their first campaign win, as they join Imo Striker Queens in Group B as the only clubs in the Championship thus far to produce brace scorers without winning a game. 

Other players on a brace include Dreamstar Ladies player - Bukola Owoseni, who scored both from the spot in the 85th minute and from open play on the 90th-minute mark against Kwara Ladies, and Prince Kazeem Elutu Queens' Osundina Oluwafemi with an 8-minutes brace against Imo Striker Queens. 

Dorothy Essien leads the chart with four goals, followed closely by Harmony Achifula and Bukola Owoseni on three strikes each from two games played across all centers.
