Lampard Confirms Everton Talks With Alex Iwobi Over New Deal

Frank Lampard has confirmed that Everton is in talks with Super Eagles star Alex Iwobi over a new contract, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference to preview Everton's upcoming Premier League game against Tottenham on Thursday, the Chelsea legend said: "I know that Kevin Thelwell is speaking with Alex's people on that front so we'll see how that one develops." 

Iwobi's current deal - said to be worth £90,000 per week - runs until 2024.

The Nigerian who averages a goal involvement every 163 minutes for the Toffees, Lampard says his development has been brilliant.

 "His development's been brilliant. I think there was a perception of Alex before I came in. I felt and always saw he could be dangerous in the middle of the pitch... the rest is him. I just want more from him because of what he's got attributes-wise.

 â€œHe’s one of the best midfielder players in the league. He’s been a 6 and an 8 and his form has been great. It’s all him, I’ve adjusted his position slightly but the rest is him.”
