Substitute Michael Olalusi doubled the advantage just three minutes later, sealing all three points for the Akure-based side.

Head coach Bobola Akinfolarin expressed satisfaction with the performance, praising the supporters for their backing.

“I am happy with the result. We created more chances and wanted the victory more than our opponents, and we got what we deserved,” Akinfolarin said.

Chairman of the Ondo State Football Agency (ODSFA), Divine Ogbonaya, also lauded the team’s effort and reiterated the club’s commitment to its season objectives, noting that Sunshine Stars would remain focused and determined.

Gateway FC’s head coach, Ayo Filani, declined to speak with journalists after the match.
