Le Roy Tips Nigeria For 2023 AFCON Title

French coach, Claude Le Roy, has tipped Nigeria and four other countries that may likely win the 2023 African Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The former Cameroon coach mentioned Senegal, Morocco and Algeria as favourites but believed Nigeria's Super Eagles and DR Congo have the potential to be African champions.

"I would not be original if I said that they are the regulars. That is to say, Senegal, Morocco, Algeria, he began his remarks. Personally, I always prefer to bet on teams that can surprise. 

There is obviously Egypt, but there is also Mali, which I have personally been waiting for for a very long time. There is such potential for talent in this country! 

There is also South Africa and then there is the organizing country, even if I would not put Ivory Coast among the first favorites.

 I hope that the DRC and Nigeria will arrive with a good level. Because these are two huge footballing nations that have the potential to one day be world champions", he said.
