Leeds United In Pole Position To Sign Amazing Nigerian Defender
Alfred Kadiri
Italian newspaper Tuttosport claim that Premier League side Leeds is in ‘pole’ to sign Super Eagles and Torino defender Ola Aina this month – despite already completing a deal to land Max Wober from RedBull Salzburg this week. Aina’s contract ends in June.
BSNSports.com.ng gathered that the 26-year-old defender has largely been the first choice on the left of Torino’s defence this season, when fit. He has missed the last five Serie A games due to injury. He is likely to leave the club this month, or on free in the summer.
Tuttosport reported in a previous piece, back in December, that the ex-Chelsea man is keen to return to the Premier League. Coming through at Chelsea and born in London, Aina was superb on loan at Fulham during the 20-21 term.
Now, the latest report states that Leeds is at the front of the queue in the race to sign Aina. Reports earlier this week suggested that Leeds is also keen on Alkmaar’s Milos Kerkez. So, Leeds could still be looking at a left-back.
