Legendary Super Eagles Stars Confirm Participation In Shehu Dikko Novelty Match

As the countdown to the Shehu Dikko Novelty Match draws closer, organizers of the event have announced that more former Nigerian internationals have confirmed their participation in the football match, reports BSNSports.com.ng.

The match is scheduled for December 4, 2024, at the Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja.

It is being held in honour of Mallam Shehu Dikko for his appointment as Chairman of the National Sports Commission (NSC).

According to the organizers, former African Footballer of the Year, Victor Ikpeba, widely known as the "Prince of Monaco," is among the ex-internationals who will participate in the match.

Other former Super Eagles players expected to join the event include Daniel Amokachi, Samson Siasia, Mutiu Adepoju, and Garba Lawal.

Ikpeba expressed that it is a significant privilege to be part of an event honouring the positive changes currently taking place in Nigerian sports, particularly with technocrats like Shehu Dikko serving as Chairman of the National Sports Commission and Bukola Olopade as the Director General.

 "Both Shehu Dikko and Bukola Olopade are astute sports administrators with proven track records over the years.

Mr. President made the right choice with their appointments," he added.

The organizers of the Shehu Dikko Novelty Match emphasized that the event is not just a football match but also an opportunity to encourage private support for the National Sports Commission to fulfil its mission of revitalizing Nigerian sports.
