Less Than One Month To WAFU Qualifier, Flying Eagles Camp Opens in Abuja
By Editor
After failure by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to declare open the camp of the U-20 national team since last year, Flying Eagles camp will open on Monday at the FIFA Goal Project of the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja.
The head coach, Ladan Bosso will have his hands full when he resumes training with less than three weeks to the commencement of a major international football competition like the U20 WAFU Championship.
The team technical crew will have barely three weeks to prepare a team for a sub-regional U20 AFCON qualifying tournament. A task that may be difficult for the coaches considering the fact that other countries like Ghana and Côte d'Ivoire have been in camp since 2021.
The WAFU B qualifiers will kick off on May 7, 2022 in Niamey, Niger Republic.
The Flying Eagles are drawn in a first round group along with rivals Ghana and Cote d’Ivoire.
The top two teams from this competition will advance to the U20 AFCON in Egypt
