Super Eagles striker Victor Boniface has extended his contract at Bayer Leverkusen from 2028 until 2029, BSNSports.com.ng has sourced on X app (formerly Twitter).

According to Patrick Berger of Sky Sports Germany, Boniface's salary, which was €3m per year before, has now at least been doubled, and he is one of the top earners in the team now.

Clubs from England and Saudi Arabia are still interested in signing the Nigerian, but Boniface is comfortable in Leverkusen, and the club is happy with him.

The club would only consider selling him for more than €50m. Meanwhile, Boniface, who's back from a thigh injury that he picked up during the 2025 AFCON qualifying game against Rwanda in November, could feature against RB Leipzig.

Xabi Alonso gave positive news on the 24-year-old Nigerian who had spent almost two months on the sidelines but was on the bench in Leverkusen's 2-1 loss to Atletico Madrid in the Champions League on Tuesday night.

"We do not expect any problems or news (from injuries before the game against Leipzig). Let's train now, but my information is that all (except Adli, Belocian and Terrier) are available, including Victor (Boniface) and Nordi (Mukiele)."
