Leverkusen Provides Update On Tella's Knee Injury

Super Eagles attacking midfielder Nathan Tella played a crucial role in Kasper Hjulmand's first game as head coach of Bayer Leverkusen, contributing to their 3-1 victory over Eintracht Frankfurt. However, he has missed the last two matches due to a knee injury.

BSNSports.com.ng has sourced from German news outlet that the Nigerian may potentially return to the squad for Saturday's match against St. Pauli.

Hjulmand confirmed at his pre-match press conference that a late decision will be made regarding the 26-year-old's participation.

"We have hope. We’ll have to see today with Nathan. I think you’re right - having those deep runs and that type of player is important. And it’s true, he had a very, very good game against Frankfurt with those runs in behind.

"I think it's a very important thing for our game. We definitely saw that it changed, and it's very important that no matter if you have speed or no speed, if it's against a low block, we still have to attack the last line of defence.

 "And so it's a very, very important issue for our attacking game that we know that the intention is to break the last line of defence. And we have players, not only Nathan, who can do that. But it's a very important thing for us, and I think we can improve."

Exequiel Palacios, Alejo Sarco, and Martin Terrier are the only confirmed absentees for Leverkusen ahead of Saturday's game.
