Lobi Stars' Abdullahi Dedicates Man of the Match Award to Wife, Teammates

Lobi Stars' first-choice goalkeeper, Lucky Abdullahi, has dedicated his Man of the Match Award, MOTM, for excellent goalkeeping against Plateau United to his wife as a mark of honour, BSNSports.com.ng reports. 

The former Niger Tornadoes shot-stopper stated this while receiving the award from the Marketing Manager of Lobi Stars, Dr Derick Ka'kan who represented the award donor, the Honourable Commissioner for Sports, Youths and Creativity, Rt. Hon. Terkimbi Ikyange.

The tested and trusted keeper was outstanding in between the sticks as he ensured Lobi Stars secured all three points against their arch-rivals in Lafia.  

"I dedicate this award to my wife and I thank my teammates for the efforts we put in today. It wasn't easy, but we had to fight till the end of the game, so I thank God for the victory," he maintained.

The brilliant keeper who has been in fine form since signing for the Makurdi side and was full of happiness for not conceding in Sunday's match. 

"Before I started the game, I prayed to God for a clean sheet. I wanted to put in my best more than what I have been doing, and I got what I wanted," the towering goalkeeper said.  

Abdullahi also thanked the award donor for thinking outside the box to motivate the players of Lobi Stars to give their best performance each time they put on their jerseys to play for the club. 

He prayed for God's blessings upon the former Speaker of the Benue State House of Assembly for being kind-hearted and magnanimous.

The award is the goalkeeper's first since the inauguration of the prestigious award.
